Clue No ! for air in the system is cool air from the passenger side dash vent, warmer air from the driver side, heat full on air directed to dash.

So bleed the system of air first.

Most assuredly and while my wife was cranking I used a big magnifying glass to look at the plug and also kept the hood low to keep out the light.

There was no spark until the engine fired.

No Spark when cranking cold engine

All,
Like I said there is no spark while cranking cold. After cranking for a couple of seconds, a spark appears and then it starts. This no spark condition appears only when the engine is cold....

I may be getting close.

Fuel pressure is a steady 40 psi after repeated running the fuel pump by turning the key to position 2. Then with the engine running pressure it rises to 48psi....

what you said about the hoses being soft until the temperature starts climbing towards the Red means the thermostat is not opening. Just put in a new one.

I wouldn't bother with them. I just use Neverseez in the pins and for the last 18 years, all has been fine. Yes I know that they say they shouldn't be lubed.
