I too just put a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport All-Seasons on my car. They are more forgiving over rough pavement, and don't lose traction as easily as the Dunlop Sports. Not sure if my tire are...

Maybe a 4WD winter beater would be a good solution. You can always use something to haul junk and it may be better when the snow gets deep.

I had a 530xi for three years. Used a hand wash, pull through car wash. I did hear a rubbing sound, but never had an issue. I still use the same wash for my 535i. No rubbing sound.

Maybe its just me, but I think you and your family were lucky not to have the tire strike the passenger area. Some pretty horrible accidents caused by loose tires. :eeps:
