Got the starter swapped out and it was a PITA. There is basically no room for play. Made a cool tool that helps this job go a lot smoother if anyone wants to borrow it.

Hello 2010.

Anyways to add to this old thread, sounds like the oil level sensor is failing and should be replaced. About 30 mins, 90 bucks and an oil change.

I am thinking if you do not want to remove the tranny, you will have to lower the engine as well with it. That requires an engine support and removing the lower subframe.
