i bought a centech obdII scanner from harborfreight ...it cost only $100 im able to scan and clear codes on my e39 and all the cars we have at home that is a 96 and up model...

usually a trans gear light would turn on or you 5 would go into limp ...check engine light turned on? try to see if you can get it scanned for codes first.that will help you narrow down the problem,...

Unfortunately, if you want oem shadowline bumper trims, they will not be cheap unless you find used.ddm is probably the cheapest but they come with the motorsports logo and eBay has the m5 reps...

No it seems you do have 4th gear.if you didn't , at 70mph you'd be up in the higher rpms like 6-7k rpms...low level trans oil can trigger that code.search for how to fill the transmission oil.maybe...
