Has anyone tried this on their E53? If it works it would save disassembling the CV joint from the shaft, which is a lot of work due to the circlip being buried under a ton of grease.

The oil filter housing on my 2011 335d is 32mm (1/2 inch drive). I bought the socket at Sears for maybe $12 and use it with my cheater bar. Works great.

Diff fluid is so easy if you have a lift. Only issue is, no drain plug so you need to put a 90 deg bend in your suction thing to slurp out the fluid at the bottom.
