That is actually more because of advances in processor, memory, display, and harddrive (spindle to ssd) technology which uses available power more efficiently allowing these machines to do more.

I don't think most cars will have good resale value because there's a glut of inventory of every model (except maybe exclusive models like the M2).

15 years is a long time to keep a car! Unless the car spends a lot of time in a covered garage, I don't think the interior/trim will hold up. The mileage is nothing. I think it can easily do much...
