Haha nope no such thing on the v10. It's a cabin air filter. There's no room for anything....

Dude... I worry about my magic oil level sensor on my M5 all the time.

I figure though my car burns about 2 quarts every 5k miles. If I see no leaks I'm good. I Just change oil at 5k religiously.

BMW's are probably the most reliable euro cars from 99-2010 in my opinion and experience.

Try unplugging the MAF and see if the car starts.

Also check for big vacuum leaks like intake boots, throttle body, idler control valve.

I would also check the voltage of your positive terminal...

I would actually use a gauge on the fuel rail schrader valve. You might lose a little fuel obviously and your looking for about 3.5bar/50psi. If it isn't that, you've got a fuel system problem still.
