They're probably quoting the labor charge. I recently took my 645ci in for the battery recall & asked about the software update. They said the "update" was free, but would charge for labor....$325.

You don't have to go very dark, I got mine legal in the front (30%) & 5% in the back. But that's just my preference. I'd say at least 50% all around just to keep the sun out, but 30% doesn't look bad...

I haven't done any kind of test, but after removing just the front 2 "can" resonators I could definintely tell the throttle has a little more "punch" to it. I still have to remove the "box" resonator...
