I **think** a dealer can reset the dot if it bothers you. When I replaced my cluster, I got the dot, but I was working with a dealer and they were able to re-set.

The removal was pretty straightforward if I remember right. You did have to break a small part I think... sort of like the seal on a milk jug. I don't think you need to buy any other part though.
