We've done both.
The Mercedes Museum is the best OEM museum of the three, BMW Mercedes and Porsche, the wife and I have visited.
If you can do the Porsche factory tour, it's much more up close...

The discounts on BMWs are nice, but not a deal breaker. (the is no discount on Porsches and depending on dealership...

Left Vaas 8:00 am arrived Stuttgart 7:00 pm.
TGV trains are unbelievable, smooth and fast. The monitor at each end of the car displays speed, I saw 329 kph. :yikes:

Arrived in Frankfurt on the 15th.
After clearing passport control / customs, walked across street to the Fern Bahnhof.
Rode ICE 611 to Mannheim transferred to TGV 9552 to Paris Est.
