A 10/94 car should have been just a little too early for EWS-II. See this PDF (http://www.e38.org/EWS.pdf), page 8. Earlier, the PDF a lot of good information about the systems through EWS-I.

From what I remember, the diagnostic cap has pins to short the K-bus to 12V and prevent modules from responding to noise. It also has pins on OBD-II cars that chain one of the bus lines to the OBD-II...

I think all my electrical tape gets stiff at low temperatures.
