I have a '97 528i and it has the same problem...

I have a '97 528i and it has the same problem with the front windshield black rubber outline cracking and falling apart. I went to the dealer and they stated that this is purely cosmetic.

I went to the pelicanparts.com website and found that part you were referring to. Hopefully I just had a damaged o-ring or something. Was the part easy to remove? Just a matter of "popping" it...

I found that part on OEM-BMW-parts.com but it stated that the part is for Mercedes. Are you sure that is the right part for an E39 BMW (1997 528i)?

I have a 1997 528i. I see a slight leak coming from the elbow on the driver's side of the radiator. This is the elbow that is connected to a hose and runs back to the coolant reservoir.
