It is most likely an oil leak from valve cover gasket. There are a lot of posts on this- photos even if you do a search for this issue. So take a look at the heat shield, just below the valve cover...

I totally agree, and now use BMW antifreeze and have less problems...many of the OEM parts you order will even state warranty does not apply if you do not use BMW antifreeze! I was not a believer...
