My road dog has 242,000 miles and blown head gasket. The cost of replacing the head or replacing the engine with a low mileage one are about the same. Just wondering what would you do?

After last weeks freeze here I started blowing what looked like white smoke from my exhaust.
Once the car gets to full temperature it clears up. Coolant was low and bubbles back out of radiator cap...

Radiator Leak - Fix needed

My fan temperature switch will not tighten up and has a slow leak. I tried using plumbers tape around the treads but I don't think that will hold for very long.

I heard so many horror stories about high mileage transmissions failing after fluid change. Seems to be running fine now, that is why I said to off or refill. Still not sure which way to go.
