Just went through this

Your #6 post was spot on. The tech I went to took a used (forgot size) speaker, put it in using only two wires and it works fine. Best part, he didn't charge me anything.

Late Followup

Friendly BMW parts guy parts I needed after looking at a half million. It's a plastic extension of the screws in the tailights. Not toooo expensive but don't want to buy anymore.

Actually few armadillos. Biggest hazard here (other than drunks) are bears and deer. Eglin AFB, over 700 square miles, borders us and bears frequently cross the highways and invade the houses...

Emergency/Parking/Hand Brake Switch Follow Up

I fiddled with the switch as best I could without getting into the center console and finally just disconnected it. Ordered a new switch after much searching (me and the dealer parts guy).
