Continental owns General tire company, so I wouldn't say General tires are bad.

I'd get the DWS though. DWS is one of the lightest tires in its class (unsprung weight) and has very good reviews.

I believe N52 (255hp) became standard on model year 2006, so I'd say 2006 and 2007 530i have 255hp. 2004 and 2005 530i had M54 (225hp). 2007 530i I had 255hp, with 11/06 build date.
