I would certainly regret paying $4500 on B&O sound system that is marginally better than HK sound system. Based on my experience B&O does sound better ( IMO Slightly ) and during my test drives it...

Summer tires are not going to perform in freezing temps very well... If it snows, then forget about it. If your father plans to drive a lot during winter ( depending on how cold it gets in your area...

I wonder if resetting the computer will help? Press and hold the volume knob for 15 seconds.
If not off to the dealer it goes if you want that sound back.

Your best bet for winter driving is good winter tires and all wheel drive and of course what framer mentioned above. DHP is more for handling and comfort.
