Might add that you want to disconnect the battery before taking the seats out. That way you will run no risk of triggering an airbag warning light that then needs a special scanner to reset.

The rubber grommet where the pump plugs into the deposit has a built in strainer that can clog up. Especially if it is original. Pull up and clean or replace...

The most ancient of the E46 had ABS. The newer, DSC. Always.

And the DSC "brain" receives info on what the car and the driver are trying to do thru 12 different sensor inputs.
