What do you cal that pain that is on the rocker panels? The stuff that feels thicker, almost rubbery (?) and has a slightly rough surface. And is that stuff any harder to sand off and put on than...

Update: turns out that the heater core was OK...

Update: turns out that the heater core was OK after all. They didn't replace it because the chasis number was beyond the number for the cars that got the defective heater core.
