Bet OP's engine is venting boost into atmosphere the whole time. Are the BOV connectors locked in? These guys have that twist and lock plastic lock thing to the charge pipe if I recall correctly.

I know some people who have upgraded, to aluminum charge pipes.
It's useful for older cars (heat eventually makes the plastic brittle). IMO it's a must for boosted cars.
