Excellent work on this. Sounds like bank 1 pre cat is giving a bad reading, causing poor gas/air mix. I would recommend changing both pre cat O2 sensors, simply because when one fails, the other is...

There have been posts about the vacuum leaks developing in the air rubber intake boot.
Also, pre-cat oxygen sensors tend to go bad ( hesitation during acceleration tends to be a symptom of this...)....
