So I installed the thrust arm and sway bar powerflex bushings today.... Thrust arm bushings were black and sway bar bushings were purple. NVH is a little more than equivalent to the bad bushings...

I am aware of all of the aftermarket alternatives as well as the X5 bushing route, and from what I have heard, rubber bushings of any kind will fail within 20k...

If your car runs when you're on the throttle but dies at idle, you might want to consider checking the Idle Control Valve. It often gets full of carbon and seizes.
