I assume the mechanic bought one from a salvage yard. They just cut the wire harness and sell it with the plug, that way if you need that too, you get it. Since yours is fine, they just put the cut...

I just ran into that problem myself. The fuse kept blowing so I unplugged the fuel door lock, replaced the fuse, and all is good now!

If the freon pressure is low, the evaporator will freeze up. The humidity will freeze on the evaporator and plug it up. Once you shut the car off for a while or turn the heat on, it will melt the ice...

I just picked this up last fall. It's my first twin screw so I'm excited. I've had it out a few times, so far all went well. I stayed on it two weekends and will be nearly every weekend till fall.

If it is just an electrical glitch, you may want to disconnect the battery cables and touch them together to drain any memory capacitors. I won't hurt anything as long as both cables are disconnected...
