Me too. I'm definitely in the lower 10% of mileage for the 335d. At least you have an excuse (high altitude, cold weather driving). My only rationalization is that I drive like a total loon, but at...

You guys should feel satisfied. You love the 328d for what it has turned out to be: a great luxury ride offering superb efficiency. You can of course quibble over the extent of that efficiency, but...

LSD for 335d?

My Service Advisor told me that he cannot seem to find a limited slip differential and that one may not be made. I saw some chaff from the UK boards about there being one from Quiafe but it doesn't...

How have the krauts fared with this setup? I am ignorant of their emissions requirements but am pretty sure that their emissions systems are not engineered all that differently than ours. Are they...

I would not debadge either of my 335d's, one a blue Msport. They already distinguish themselves by rapidly vanishing in front of others. All the 335i guys at work are dying to take it out, which...

Different car - 335d - but I blew a hose off one of the turbos once and it resulted in a strong exhaust smell inside the cabin but no lights.

Great post Piredon. Detailed, nuanced insight makes for great reading. When my 335d finally falls apart I will have a difficult descision: 535d, A6 TDI, A4 TDI, or some diesel TBD. Curious to hear if...

Fully agree with this post FWIW. Once you slip on a set of Pilot Super Sports and throw on some stiffer sways and spend some time thrashing all and sundry it gets really depressing to contemplate any...

Re: 2014 328d/dx Experiences & MPG Meet Up

No kidding. I wouldn't have spent that on a loaded 335d M sport. I wonder why Canadian bucks do not go as far with BMW. Even with some exchange rate issues that seems steep. I have read that diesel...

2014 328d/dx Experiences & MPG Meet Up

I do not want to hijack the 328d thread but wanted to pass along a sample size of one: I have the P203A fault on one of my 335d's and it is absolutely NOT carbon buildup, though your...

2014 328d/dx Experiences & MPG Meet Up

Any of you happen to know how common the emissions systems are between the 328d and the 335d? It is sure going to be interesting to discover whether the emissions issues that have seemingly plaqued...

2014 328d/dx Experiences & MPG Meet Up

No offence will ever be take by me for anyone preferring one car over another. My car suits my tastes perfectly but it won't last forever. Plus I might weary of thrashing the stoplights. The 328d...

2014 328d/dx Experiences & MPG Meet Up

Glad you all pulled this thread into the Diesel subforum. There are lots of 335d folks here who, like me, are very interested in your experiences with the 328d.

335d discontinued?

I agree FWIW. Both diesel models available here are inferior to 335d from a performance perspective. You have also pointed out the only possible scenario that might convince BMW to alter their diesel...

Creating a "PPK" for your 328d

Stevehecht,

Thanks for posting the link. The 335d to F30 328i comparo is provocative but at odds with real world experiences of me and others. I doubt you share these views but having driven both...

hot vent air

You are surely correct about the seal, though I can tell you for sure that that area must be a heat sink, either owing to its location in direct sunlight and/or proximity to the engine compartment....

+1 post Stevehecht. Thanks for link to the 320d PPK install review. Interesting that not only is the ECU remapped but that a larger intercooler and fan are required. I would be much more open to the...

328d 0-60 reports

Is it confirmed that BMW will market a PPK for the 328d? I see the F30-based PPK for the 335i but speculation alone for the 328d. That'd be neat to see.

Dang. Thanks for setting me straight. I had a hose pop off a turbo once, spewing hot exhaust throught the engine compartment and it came immediately through the venting system, so I thought 'that...

Sorry - bad editing. 'Our 335d's will NOT last forever' is what I meant to say. I will probably test drive an A6 TDI as well as rhe 535d and keep an eye on the 328d. Interesting to hear that the 328d...
