i would get the tbelt and water pump changed. new t-stat, few gallons of coolant, oil change, tire rotation, brake check. fuel filter, air filter.

or you can do what i do and just wing it and hope...

it controls the idle, icv=idle control valve....

it controls the idle, icv=idle control valve. that screw can adjust the idle, but shouldnt really be messed with. since it's controlled with vacuum, it tends to get gunked up with burnt oil/bypassed...

no, flex plate just mounts the torque converter to the crankshaft. auto trannies slip when the clutch packs either burn up/glazed over from bad/old fluid.
