I have had the same problem occasionally happen...

I have had the same problem occasionally happen over the years . The bulb socket is sensitive to the brand of bulb in my experience . I clean the socket contacts using alcohol and use Wagner bulbs...

You still have not done that. All your symptoms are pointing to low pressure at the rail .

2) if you pass the fuel test at the rail, next check plugs after...

Common problem.... been there with my sons 1997 528I ...... fuel pump and filter did the trick. The main culprit was the fuel pump. Fuel pressure at the rail was 15# instead of 50 # .

No fuel system or oil side issues. Original gas filter, fuel injectors, etc.

Oil changed every 7500...

Almost always the valve cover gasket. If you changed it and it still leaks , it may not have been installed correctly. The 1/2 moon area is particularly difficult to get right.
