Should of post a long time ago but my issue ended up being the clutch sensor. Replaced it and no issues ever since.

My issues were a ruptured hose in the vanos pump...

My issues were a ruptured hose in the vanos pump and a clutch sensor. And soon after BMW of San Diego had to replace both cats. Runs great now.

I think clutch sensor was around $700 installed. Previous owner replaced the clutch and that was a pretty penny, close to $3000.

WTF transmission!!!

New car to me, 2006 BMW M5 SMG 65,000 miles. Keep getting "transmission malfunction" lights at all random times. Car seems to be running fine. I get both the red and yellow signs. Also "check engine"...

Check engine light, emissions increased, and transmission malfunction.

Check engine light, emissions increased increased message, and transmission malfunction message all keep coming on randomly. Car runs fine. Am I screwed ???

M5 transmission malfunction warning???

So I'm driving my 06 M5 SMG tonight. I was not in power mode and driving a lil aggressive with the shifter. I was in 3rd gear and all of sudden "transmission malfunction" shows up on heads up display...
