The maps are on both CD (for the MKI, MKII, MKIII & MKIV), and DVD for the MKIV.

1) the battery is to low on power to turn over the engine - if you can't get the car started, pull the battery & take it to your local AutoZone (or equivalent) & have them test it....

I believe Fr4nk was indicating rather re-coding your LCM, they are more apt to suggest replacing the LCM. BMW dealers are quick to suggest replacement parts to solve problems.

The first thing I'd try is someone else's Nav CD in your Nav unit.
If that works, then you've just got a map CD problem.
If it doesn't work, then it sounds like your CD read "eye" is the problem.

Oil filters like Fram can cause oil leaks.......

Also, you'll need to replace the big o-ring that goes inside the oil filter...
