Side gills: Chrome, matte, or shiny black?

I'm thinking of swapping out the side gills on my car. To my eyes, the chrome outline on the standard one is garish -- jarring! -- on the side of my Singapore Grey car. But I'm not sure whether to go...

Totally agreed about RWD + winter tires being a great setup here in New England. Having had that setup on a long line of Bimmers (see signature), I can attest to how well RWD works in foul weather....

Fixed. I slid a narrow screwdriver in from the outside edge and was able to relieve the tension on the latch. PITA. Note to self -- only flat stuff in the future!!

I'm in Massachusetts. Insurance on my M5 will be about $2k, $335 more than my 2011 550i, but including surcharges for a fender-bender earlier this year.

I'm fairly certain the 2011 does *not* have the kick function. I know mine doesn't. Pretty sure that was a MY 2012 feature.

Similar story here -- my 2007 335i had adaptive steering, and I haven't had it in the three cars I've had since then. ('08 M3, '11 550i, and -- next week -- '14 M5) Actually, I don't think it's even...

My 2011 came with Michelin Primacy runflats. No sidewall bubbles, and reasonable wear for that kind of tire on a 4,400-lb car.
