If I ever get an engine worthy of that thing, I'll be sure to buy it. Not much tuning room on my little 530 v8.

Clueless ???

If that is what your cap looks like, then your coolant level sensor next to it is likely F'd beyond repair. It's $8 at rockauto.com. Clean the cap, flush the radiator, replace the sensor. Btw, you...

Howling noise question

That's controlled by your auxillary fan resistor. $20-$30 and 10 minutes to replace. They fail every 50-60k miles. Other than that, you need to be more specific as to why it's a problem.

Flat spots in steering

That sounds like a $20 ball joint/control arm. Slop plus pop, and it's usually that little piece O nothin ball joint that's grinding metal and has no tension. You ain't gonna see it until you put...

E34 535i Sudden Front End Clunk

Sounds like your wheel isn't bolted on/torqued properly. Either that or you have a nail embedded in a tire and tacking in the road. But the interval sounds wrong for the latter.

I had the same...

Shocks or suspension query E34 540i

Bilstein shocks have lifetime warranties. Sachs shocks are OEM. Keep in mind that BMW's are very heavy, including our tank. Your standard ghetto Monroe shock isn't going to hold it's own very...

Buying my first bmw question

18's will blow your suspension in short order. 17 is the max. You can do all of those things, but it will cause more harm than good. And almost welcome to the E34 club. You were smart to ask...

I know that code by heart. Your O2 sensor is dead. Not dying. Dead. That only triggers when it's a paperweight.

You have 2 of them, but luckily they are $29 at rockauto. It isn't going to...

Clanks from engine - 525i M20

Your oil weight is 10w-40 or 15w-50 synthetic. And the change interval for full synthetic is 7500 miles. 3500 for regular oil. Amsoil, Lubrimoly, Red Line, Motul, Castrol(sometimes) are all good...

Well, it's a $34 part. He will need that part eventually. And that's equivalent to 10 minutes of a dealership diagnosing his car(and he gets no part). It ain't a bad deal considering he now knows...

That hose doesn't look OE. And you are missing a clamp on it. And it's bent open. Could be an issue. Also could be an issue that your MAF is now covered in **** because your hose is creased open. ...

Check the codes, check the air filter, dump some octane booster/93 in the tank, and hope it isn't a O2 sensor or MAF, as they are $60 & $70 respectively.

94' 5301 engine queation

If you mean the 1994 530i V8, it's probably the most maintenance free motor of the lot. If you mean Nikasil engines, they were bad when sulfur was in fuel, but that isn't an issue anymore. The only...
