Clay only removes what is on TOP of the paint. These mineral deposits are in the paint. Polishing is the most effective way I have found

You don't need to use a pressure washer, a regular hose will also work - it is just that the PW is a superior tool to a hose and safer, because you are using way less water.

I couldn't tell you how many engines I have washed. Never ever covered anything, what I do is turn on the car before rinsing it with a pressure washer. That is what a BMW mechanic told me to do....
