This is the one I'm getting for my E39. It's not custom but I think it'll fit well. Just tell the seller what year your bmw is and they said they can get you the closest size that'll fit well.

Sounds like you're not driving the car long drives where the battery isn't charged by the alternator. If not, I'd get a battery charger to charge battery. I do short trips so I charge my battery...

Will always need a sedan because I have a wife/2 boys. So it we need another sedan, I'd get an E60 or and X6 and keep the E39.

Go to an indy mechanic that's familiar with BMWs and have them check it out. You can also go to a BMW dealer and have them do an overall inspection. Even if they charge you $150 it's worth to find...
