I think you mean the exhaust cam position sensor, right? There are 4 of those - 1 intake and 1 exhaust per bank. There is only one VANOS solenoid per bank.

Get a Peake Code Reader, pull the codes and post them here. I'll 2nd the "no information guess" that Bruce made and say it is probably a CPS, but it could also be a solenoid or 5 other things.
