Aluminum mounts are nice. I went with steel in my car to keep cost a bit lower and figured the extra handful of pounds wouldn't make a difference in a non-competition car.

The idea is nothing new. I think some automakers have been using magnetic plugs from the factory.

There's no reason to not use them that I can think of, but that one is pretty absurdly expensive.
