I'm at 110k, and still am running original coils, with newer plugs. Didn't know coils were a huge issue with the N52. Perhaps I should be carrying a spare with me.

Many vendors sell the kit. BavAuto, Tischer...it's usually about the same price at buying from your local dealer. It's a Castrol 5w30. I typically use the BMW stuff

What maintenance has been done on the vehicle? How many miles? That sounds like a coil pack. Pretty easy to change yourself; just follow any spark plug DIY for the N52 engine and it will get you...
