Looks like it works fine. No big power gains (surprise surprise), but can get bit cheaper mileage now because alcohol fuel has lower tax on it.

Those two might share surprisingly many parts, but should check part numbers for being sure. Even half of the engine parts are interchangeable, but don't mix with 318is that's whole different engine.

Then filter doesn't make it run rich or lean. ECU should know to put right amount of fuel into mixture anyway.

I changed mine last summer, and new one fits, but maybe i wouldn't call it perfect fit. Some plastic parts only barely fit in their places and so on...
