Hi Coug,

When you removed the old vacuum pump did it leak a fair amount of engine oil as you rotated the input shaft, mine started leaking so I removed it and could see traces of engine oil...

Classic symptom of a failing battery, mine did the exact same thing, it seems that when the engine is started the starter motor sucked the arse out of the battery and rest of the car high power...
