You can just replace the mechanical tensioner...

You can just replace the mechanical tensioner pulleys, you can use Dayco 89133, for those if the tensioners are good. Idler pulley is BMW part number: 11287841228. Good Luck!

Brake light on is your the brake reservior sensor is detecting a low fluid level. Is it low, sensor and or wiring OK?

PA1.4 software is available online to download, but you do need the interface...

I eliminated my dusting issues by using Akenbono...

Sounds like you should have asked this BEFORE you bought it. But start with the battery and shock first, then go after the airbag light and scan for the codes again. Post the 4 digit numbers back...

Right, since the belt came off definitely check the tensioner and pulley. Maybe it was water pump pulley that had a crack. Not sure on the engine noise.

Though I can't comment on the MAF swap, P0171 & P0174 are usually attributed to a vacuum leak. Things to check, your CCV hoses, the DISA valve and intake boots.

Oil by the power steering reservoir can be the OFHG or the O-Ring on your PS reservoir...

The automatic transmission thermostat can removed by using needle nose pliers and a good pull upward. If you have the new one you can see how it installs and removal is reversed.
