Power steer pump stalls and smokes up belt (intermitent)

Hi every one,
I have a 05 3.0d, love the car but it has me stumped at the moment, it has just started stalling out the power steer pump and causing the belt to smoke, then after a couple of minutes...

I didn't have to replace the transfer case, I changed out the servo motor with a borrowed unit and found the controller unit (computer) to be faulty, purchased a second hand unit from a BMW wrecker....

Yep, its the ignition switch,
I cleaned the contacts and lubricated the sliding components, reassembled and it works fine. I will replace it though, I don't trust it.

I have done some more tests at the back of the ignition switch and am 98% sure it is the switch, I will pull it apart and clean it out to get it going until a replacement...
