Thanks Meangreen94z, it worked like a charm just like you mentioned. Was easy to replace, the "Y" joint had gone hard and cracked and was leaking.

It is possible that the leak could be from the vent coolant hose cause i don't see anything from the weep hole.

Is there a way to check the vent hose visually?

The expansion tank should not blow out rather the cap should release pressure first like a safety valve. I think the cap was defective n hence the tank blowing.

Maybe there is a small glitch with the CAS which I'm sure a reset is required. Check for any codes.

Have you tried pulling any fault codes? in the INPA s/w or any BMW s/w it will store errors for the Dynamic drive each time the warning shows up.
Clearing the codes may help in resolviing the fault...

The blets are very very easy to replace, takes about 5 mis each. Get a good / OEM belt that will last, pay the extra as these belts take a lot of load with varing conditions.
