You'd be surprised how cold air can hide leaks. I bought an E28 last spring and the thing seemed bone dry when I purchased it. Fast forward a couple weeks when it finally warmed up into the 50's/60's...

It could be a myriad of problems. Bad wheel speed sensor, bad steering angle sensor, and yes possibly car being out of alignment.
