The cable just snaps into the support, but the support is worn or stretched and doesn't hold. The passenger side is snug. I was hoping to just replace the support. I'll have to rig something up.

I've been looking for an on/off rattle/knocking from under the rear of the Z3 and nailed it to this parking brake cable support.

The cable routinely pops out of this and knocks around over bumps....

FWIW, I never had to purchase a fancy socket to change any BMW plugs, so you already threw your money away at that item. A torque wrench is all you'd need in addition to a standard plug socket (5/8).

The old gummi was superior, the new stuff is mostly talc in a carrier. Leave it in a glass and it dries to a powder.

krytox 205 is more heat stable, which is what I use for the seals.
