If there is no red steering fluid then the rack is fine. It wont be for long if you drive without the boots. There are lots of places for the steering fluid to leak from. Res cap, hoses, etc.

Good catch. It does look like the hose is expanded further in than the remaining length of plastic pipe. It probably does has a chunk inside the pipe. If thats the case, time for some new cooling...

Judging by the pic, this doesnt look like "coolant system failure" to me. Just looks like the clamp came loose. But 10 miles is a long way to go with no coolant.
