I changed mine last summer, and new one fits, but maybe i wouldn't call it perfect fit. Some plastic parts only barely fit in their places and so on...

These stories come up, because normally people think of cat delete when it's already very old, meaning it's almost clogged. Then it surely makes big difference when removing it. :)

When searching ebay with that 1428168 code i get loads of 316i and 318i differentials, and when douple checking, found out that those use exactly 3.38 with manual transmission.
