Entirely normal, in fact the dealers sell the rear rubber mounting shim for the spring in varying thicknesses so that if it bugs you it can be changed to level out the arse end.

Depends what firmware your iPhone is at, transfer of phonebook to most systems would not work until FW 3.1 so perhaps you should check and upgrade the iPhone. Apple did a fix.
