A few comments from folks that have been to the dealer training ride and drives have stated the sport handling makes a significant difference. I know they're dealers, but the write up suggests that the sport package is a must. I'd say that's partiuclarly so if you plan on staying with a 2.5 engine. Based on my driving (touring, twisty turnies - NOT track), I decided the 5 speed manual, 2.5 engine with sport was more cost effective than a 3.0 with or without sport. YMMV....
