thanks a million!

I just wanted to chime in and say thanks a lot for posting this. I'm sure it saved me a bunch of money. I just ordered the part for about $70 at bav auto, followed your instructions and pow- it's done. My A/C is no longer possessed!!!

I also wanted to add that before fixing it, this problem actually DRAINED MY BATTERY completely and I had to jump my car to get it running, and it lost ALL of the settings, clock, etc. everything!

That's the only motivation I needed to finally order this part and fix it.

Thanks to you it took me about 20 minutes and it's all done!

I'd also like to add for future reference that I needed a pair of straight pliers to pull the power clip off of the FSU. Used carefully, it works great to push the side clips in while gently rocking and pulling out the power plug.
And the old FSU was very hot when I pulled it out, so be careful you don't drop it on your forehead while doing this repair!
