Thanks Denaliman. I called BMWof NA and the woman I spoke to was very nice, but as far as being helpful, I'm not sure. She did say she was going to call the service manager at the place that basically told me to get in line for 22 days, but when I asked her if anyone else was having this problem with iDrive she said no. After reading the posts, I think maybe they are not being forthright with me. So now, it's 8 in the morning my time and I'm going to take the 2 hour trip to the dealership where I bought it.
Going back to iDrive though, if anyone else has had this issue, please let me know what you/the BMW did to fix it. I'm hoping it doesn't happen again, but....I'll keep my fingers crossed.
