+1. I agree. As much as I'd love a true M version of the X3, the Sport package option just doesn't qualify. It's great - I love mine - and it makes a great car even better, but that doesn't make it an M.
Now, when BMW finally gets around to offering the twin-turbo version of the engine, they might have a case for a legitimate M label. But with X3 sales dropping like a stone, it might be hard to make a business case for an M version...even BMW has to run a business...
