My general rule of thumb with these things is that if it fails and it doesn't hugely bother you, leave it in the closed position and live with it. Repairing any sunroof is typically a huge pain in the ass. It typically involves ripping out the entire headliner to get to the running gear. And, the work itself can be tedious and require more than one person to do. That tempered glass is not thin and is not light. It's impossible to manipulate it by yourself.
